Post and Pier Foundation, MMH
A foundation support system for mobile-manufactured homes (MMH), which uses vertical support columns (posts and piers) to elevate and support the load of the home while also anchoring it to the ground. The posts and piers are placed under the steel chassis at intervals specified by the manufacturers and carry the support load vertically. Anchors and tie downs are installed to provide lateral stabilization and prevent uplift.
The posts and piers are installed under the main beams of the home sections, marriage walls of multi-wide or multi-section homes, perimeter locations, and key locations identified by the manufacturer. Post and piers are also used to level the home.
Use the post and pier foundation if the mobile manufactured home has a crawlspace. If the crawlspace is enclosed add the appropriate skirting material.
Note: When you enter this foundation type you must enter the following:
- Foundation Material – the percentage of each foundation material type (concrete or block), with a total percentage of 100%.
Enter a percentage between 1 and 100.
